I’d love to hear COVER versions of this song, lyrics or not or whatever. To spread the simple universal message of HOPE. Please help me spread HOPE by covering this song and sharing it.

Included in the album download is the original lyrics & chords for HOPE. Unfortunately I cannot find the master cassette tape or I’d upload the individual tracks as well. This song is CCMUSIC licensed.

Background

Written when I was 22 during a very dark time of change in my life. HOPE is my prayer. I struggle with Bipolar. I have struggled with depression since I can remember. At age 13 was the first time I was hospitalized for my depression, it would not be the last.

I’ve had many good years and some bad, mostly good. I’m very lucky. I was able to get help and have friends and family be there for me. Not everyone has that or is too afraid to speak up. No one wants to talk about Mental Health yet in the USA alone about 43 million adults suffer from some mental disorder A YEAR. Yet many lack access to mental healthcare. Instead of more bombs and bailing out the rich maybe we should change this? Just a thought.

We all have those times in our lives when we just don’t see how we can make it past right NOW. But you will make it. I promise you it’s going to be ok. It may not be easy and you will have fears and doubts aplenty, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. It’s ok to speak up.

Believe in something other than yourself. Be kind to yourself. Never give up, never surrender. Go and make mistakes. Lots of them. They are going to happen anyway might as well enjoy the ride. And above all LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Especially yourself.

This life is a gift. Take it easy.

peace,
et
